By occasion this —to remember— finding of the senior musical authority Famoudou Konaté‘s two musical reference albums Guinea: Malinke Rhythms & Songs at the Soundcloud portal — toward all interested listeners and music students. The albums have been recorded by Famoudou Konaté and the Ensemble Hamana Dan Ba (27 tracks, play length 2’26”22s). As original new releases the musical document are not available anymore, currently, otherwise than as used items offered second-hand.

Concert announcement/reminder for Ensemble Triloban: Trio concert (violoncello, kora harp, percussion) at Röcknitz, Saxony/F.R.G., on Saturday, October 19th, 2024

This Saturday afternoon, from 2 p.m. onward until 5 p.m. the Ensemble Triloban —this time as trio consisting of its founder Friederike Bouzayen (violoncello), Alpha Oulare (percussion) and Sam Jarju (kora harp)— is performing another concert at the Geoportal Herrenhaus Röcknitz, address: An der Wasserburg 3, D-04808 Thallwitz OT Röcknitz, Free State of Saxony, F.R.G. The performance is to include many improvisation and invites all guests to play-along with and to dance to the music.

»The Triloban Quartet [!] combines melodies from the West African Jali traditions with European keys. Works by J. S. Bach meet overtone-rich melodies from the Kora, the West African bridge harp; traditional Mandinka songs meet instrumental improvisations with concert dulcimer and violoncello, and diversely improvised African percussion. Other musical instruments, such as xylophone and rattles, are available for visitors to play along with.« (Naturcello.de)
